Desert Rose (USA)See also: Franciscan Housewares, Franciscan GlasswareFranciscan's Desert Rose is not the oldest but probably the most recognizable Franciscan pattern (followed closely by Apple and Ivy). The pattern dates back to 1941. It has a cream background with pink roses and green leaves on the border. It was first of four "Desert Rose" variation patterns by Franciscan, the others being Meadow Rose, Twilight Rose and Cafe Royal. After 1985 the production of this pattern moved to England. After 2002 production moved to China but in my opinion, the look and quality of the dinnerware is not the same. |
